Where is the Kameriot apartment house located?
Kameriot Apartments are in the beautiful Braies Valley at 1,400 m above sea level, nestled among meadows and forests. Framed by the impressive Dolomites, the setting is quiet and idyllic, away from traffic and noise, yet close to many leisure options – a perfect place for relaxation and adventure.
Are Kameriot Apartments well located for excursions and exploring the area?
Yes, they are the ideal starting point to discover South Tyrol and all UNESCO World Natural Heritage highlights in the Dolomites.
How far is Lake Braies?
Lake Braies is only a 10-minute drive from the apartments. It is also reachable on foot or by bike.
How far is Prato Piazza?
Prato Piazza is about 15 minutes by car. Starting directly from the house, it can be reached on foot in about 2 ½ to 3 hours. It’s also a rewarding bike trip.
How is access to the holiday home?
The apartment is in a quiet, secluded location surrounded by nature. Access is via the Braies Valley on a well-maintained road. In winter, the last short stretch can be more demanding depending on the weather: since it often snows, winter tyres or snow chains are recommended.
Are the roads cleared in winter?
Roads in the area around Braies and to the apartment house are cleared regularly. Nevertheless, winter tyres or snow chains are advisable, as higher elevations see frequent snowfall.
Do I need a permit to access the valley?
Access to the Braies Valley is free during the year; in summer (approx. June to mid-September) it is partly regulated between 9:30 and 17:00. These limitations manage day-visitor traffic and protect nature reserves. Guests may enter at any time free of charge. The car is registered a few days before or on the day of arrival (summer only). During pre-check-in, the vehicle’s licence plate must be provided.
How is the connection to public transport?
In winter, the nearest bus stop is right next to the house. In summer, it is not served; the next stop is about 10 minutes away on foot. When travelling by public transport, multiple changes may be required; buses also run only until a certain time. In summer, advance ticket booking may be necessary.

GENERAL / IMPORTANT INFORMATION


Are pets allowed?
Pets are not permitted. The apartments are maintained to be allergy-friendly.
Is parking available at Kameriot Apartments?
Yes, free private parking is available directly next to the house.
Are the apartments suitable for babies and small children?
No, due to the building’s layout, babies and children under 6 years cannot be accommodated.
Are the holiday apartments accessible?
The building is not barrier-free: there are steps at the entrance and inside, no lift, and bathrooms are not accessible.
Is smoking allowed in the apartment?
No, smoking is strictly prohibited in the apartments and all indoor areas. It is permitted outdoors and on balconies.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes, quiet hours are from 22:00 to 08:00.
How does waste separation work?
Behind the house there is a recycling station with separate containers for paper, plastic, glass and residual waste. Please separate waste accordingly and use the designated bins.
What if something breaks or doesn’t work in the apartment?
Report defects or issues (e.g., electrics, heating, water) immediately. We will organise repair or replacement promptly. Contact details are provided on the information sheet in the apartment.
Do additional guests need to be registered?
Yes, all additional guests must be reported in advance or immediately after arrival and registered.

APARTMENT AMENITIES


How are the apartments equipped?
Each unit offers free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, and a bathroom with shower. A moka coffee pot and a microwave are also provided. Furnishings are traditional Alpine style with plenty of wood.
What is included in the kitchen/kitchenette?
Electric hob, microwave, refrigerator, moka coffee maker, pots, pans, crockery, glasses and cooking utensils. Not included and to be brought: food (including salt, oil, pepper), tablecloths, napkins, kitchen roll and toilet paper.
Is there a microwave or an oven?
Each apartment has an electric hob and a microwave. There is no oven.
Do the bathrooms have a bidet?
Some apartments have a bathroom with bidet; in others this is not possible due to space constraints.
Are bed linen and towels included?
Yes, bed linen and one towel set per person are included. For stays longer than a week, one free change is provided after about 7 days; additional changes are subject to a fee.
Is toilet paper replenished during the stay?
As a self-catering property, toilet paper is not replenished during the stay. One roll is provided at the start; please purchase any additional supply yourself.
Is there a hairdryer?
No, a hairdryer is not part of the basic equipment and should be brought along.
Where can skis, bikes or hiking gear be stored?
There is a storage area in the basement for skis, ski boots and sledges, and in summer for hiking boots and bicycles.
Are TV or streaming services available?
All apartments have a flat-screen TV. Common TV channels are available. Streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime are not integrated, but can be used via your own devices over Wi-Fi or HDMI.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all apartments.
Can an extra bed be booked?
No, extra beds are not offered to preserve comfort and space in the apartments.
Is grilling allowed in the apartment or on the balcony?
No, grilling is not permitted.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT


What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in from 15:00. Early access is not possible, but the car park can be used on the day of arrival. Check-out by 09:00 at the latest. Please return the keys at the Hotel Asterbel reception next door and settle any outstanding bills there.
How does late check-in work?
For late arrivals, keys are prepared so that autonomous check-in is possible even late in the evening.
Is early check-in possible?
Check-in before 15:00 is not available. The car park may be used beforehand.
What is pre-check-in?
A digital form sent by e-mail before arrival. It allows you to enter your details in advance and simplifies the procedure. In summer, it is also used to register the licence plate for access authorisation.
Can the stay be extended spontaneously?
An extension is possible depending on availability and season. Please enquire as early as possible.
What should be considered on departure?
Close all windows and doors; switch off appliances and hob. Dispose of waste at the recycling station behind the house. Further details are provided at check-in.

What can you do in the area?
Thanks to its location in the Dolomites with mountain lakes, cultural sights and culinary offerings, Braies is a popular base for all kinds of activities: hiking, cycling, skiing and cross-country skiing right from the doorstep, among others.
What leisure options are nearby?
In the immediate vicinity: hiking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, wellness, museums and sights.
Are there hiking and cycling trails nearby?
Yes, routes start directly from the apartment house. Maps for hiking and cycling are available.
Which hikes are suitable for beginners?
Several easy routes are available, including the circular walk around Lake Braies (about 1.5 hours). Putzalm and the springs trail are also recommended.
Can you rent bicycles or e-bikes in Braies?
The nearest rental is in Villabassa at the train station. Rentals are also available in Dobbiaco and San Candido.
How far is the nearest ski area?
Kameriot is directly at the Braies ski lifts. The small area is especially suitable for families and beginners. Larger ski areas are reachable in Sesto (Three Peaks) and Valdaora (Plan de Corones).
Can you go cross-country skiing directly from the apartment?
Yes, access to the trail is right in front of the house, to the left towards the ski hut.
Where can ski and cross-country equipment be rented?
There is a rental at the ski hut next to the house.
What to do on rainy days?
Museums, castles, indoor pools and saunas are available in the region. Recommended: Messner Mountain Museum, Lumen Museum, and the old towns of Brunico and San Candido.
Are there wellness facilities nearby?
Acquafun in San Candido offers an indoor pool, saunas and fitness. In Brunico, Cron4 provides a large sauna area and an outdoor pool. In summer: natural bathing lake in Dobbiaco and outdoor pool in Monguelfo.

SHOPPING & SUPPLIES


Where can groceries be purchased?
In the centre of Ferrara (Braies) there is a small village shop for daily needs. For larger shopping, Monguelfo and Dobbiaco offer better-stocked supermarkets.
Are there restaurants nearby?
Directly in front of the house there is a restaurant/pizzeria/bar, open depending on the season. There are more options in Braies and the surrounding area.
How far is the nearest doctor or pharmacy?
The nearest pharmacy is in Monguelfo. A doctor’s practice is in Villabassa. The hospital in San Candido is about 15–20 minutes away.
Is breakfast service offered?
No, breakfast service is not offered. In Braies and nearby you will find cafés with fresh rolls, croissants and coffee.
Where can you have breakfast?
Several cafés in the area serve breakfast. As they are usually not within walking distance, a car is recommended. Tips are provided on site if needed.
Where can local specialities be bought?
Supermarkets and shops in the Upper Puster Valley offer many regional products such as speck, cheese and wine. In Dobbiaco there is a dairy with various cheese specialities and guided tours. Weekly and farmers’ markets in Brunico are also worth a visit.
