RUDOLF STOLZ MUSEUM IN SESTO

The museum in Sesto that was opened in 1969 has two exhibition rooms displaying predominantly sketch plans and designs of many of frescoes, studies, watercolours and graphic works by the renowned South Tyrolean artist Rudolf Stolz (1874-1960), whose most famous pieces include the “Dance Macabre” in the cemetery of Sesto and many frescoes in its arcades.
To honour the works of this artist the municipality of Sesto built a pleasing museum on main square designed by his son-in-law, the architect Erich Pattis. The artist’s daughters loaned the museum over 160 works.
