The most beautiful regions in the Northern part of the Dolomites in South Tyrol include the broad landscape pasture Prato Piazza with its inviting restaurants, Alpine huts and our mountain hotel Hohe Gaisl.

Situated at an altitude of 2,000 metres visitors to Prato Piazza experience pure nature and tranquillity. Because of its inclusion in the nature park Fanes-Senes-Braies this jewel, surrounded by majestic peaks, has retained the unspoilt nature and characteristics of the Dolomites. Far from the traffic is the fascinating high plateau Prato Piazza with its overwhelming views of the surrounding mountain world. The peaks of Picco Vallandro, Croda Rossa, Monte Cristallo and Tofane stretch up into the sky. There is plenty on the Prato Piazza to keep photographers content in summer and winter.
From the top of Picco Vallandro you enjoy stunning views of Val Pusteria. There are Dobbiaco and Villabassa in the valley below and the Three Peaks in all their majesty.

Just sit there and take deep breaths, enjoying the diversity of nature, or go and explore Prato Piazza.
Walking, Nordic Walking, hiking and climbing in the summer, or exploring the region on touring skis, snowshoes, cross country skis, with mountaineering crampons on the frozen waterfall or in a horse-drawn carriage - Prato Piazza has something for every taste.

What cross country skiing enthusiasts discover time and time again is no secret for a number of national teams and professional cross country skiers, because here many athletes have been training for Olympic gold. Because the circuit leads through gentle terrain it is particularly well suited for fitness training and for beginners learning the sport.
